  • Making a clown out of shapes

Which skills are developed?

  • Pre-writing shapes – the circles, squares, triangles and lines that form letters and numbers
  • Scissor skills: being able to use a pair of scissors with grip and control

What you’ll need

  • Paper
  • Paint or textas
  • Glue or blu-tack
  • Scissors

Details

  • Encourage junior to draw the shapes and/or colour them in before cutting them out and using them to create the clown
  • While pasting the shapes onto a piece of paper to make the clown, reinforce the formation of the shapes using the pre-writing patterns (top to bottom, left to right, anti-clockwise)
